Stéphanie Jaeghers - PhD
Acupuncture & Auriculotherapy Practitioner in Geneva

Stéphanie Jaeghers is a practitioner and teacher of acupuncture and auriculotherapy.

She holds a PhD in Chinese medicine and graduated from the Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine (China) after successfully defending her doctoral thesis.

She also holds the title of Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine (a separate academic title from a Swiss federal medical degree) and a Chinese state doctorate: PhD (no. 1031522021004008).


For over 15 years, she has practiced a holistic clinical approach that combines the traditional vision of Chinese medicine with a contemporary understanding of the human body.

 

After clinical research on 97 patients, she completed a doctoral thesis supervised by Professor Ai Bingwei (Jiangsu Hospital, Nanjing) on ​​the treatment of anxiety with acupuncture. Her aim was to test innovative techniques related to the enteric and central nervous systems, as well as the gut microbiota.

The thesis was titled: "Anxiety Disorders Acupuncture Treatment: A Comparison of Traditional Acupuncture with Innovative Techniques of Abdominal and Scalp Acupuncture, in Light of the Gut/Brain Axis."

She also holds a Master's degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine (specializing in Huang Di Neijing) from Yunnan University of Chinese Medicine (China) and the University of Santander (Spain).

Her work is based on traditional and contemporary acupuncture, classical Chinese medicine, and a contemporary understanding of bodily function, integrating physiological, emotional, and environmental dimensions.


She pursued postgraduate training with numerous internationally renowned Chinese acupuncturists and pharmacologists, including Professors Hao Wang Shan, Wang Xinpei, Xu Shina, Dr. Huang Huang, and Dr. Richard Teh Fu Tan. She specialized in various types of acupuncture: Dr. Tan's balancing method, abdominal and umbilical acupuncture (Dr. Zhiyun Bo's method), cranial acupuncture with Dr. Tianjun Wang, and Dr. Wang Ju Vi's meridian palpation technique, among others, to enhance her expertise and provide a personalized approach to various issues (pain, psycho-emotional disorders, neurological and gynecological problems, etc.).

She also trained in auriculotherapy at GLEM (Groupe Lyonnais d'Etudes Médicales - Dr. Nogier) and is certified in Advanced Clinical Auriculotherapy.


Furthermore, she trained in scientific aromatherapy with Dominique Baudoux and is certified by the International College of Aromatherapy.

Stéphanie also trained in aesthetic acupuncture and studied, among others, with Dr. Song Jeong Hwa, director of an aesthetic clinic in Seoul and president of the Association of Facial Acupuncture Korea.

She is a graduate of the Korean Facial Rejuvenation Medical Association and practices and teaches Korean and Chinese facial aesthetic acupuncture.


She is currently training in Micronutrition/Nutritional Therapy at the CFNA at the University of Namur, Belgium.

Through her practice, she wishes to embody a personalized, serious, and profoundly human approach to care.
